Although I grew up outside of the realm of cable television, as I lived to far out of town to receive it, I did have a
Nintendo. I can remember spending countless hours sitting in front of the television playing games such as Tecmo Super Bowl
and Mario on my Nintendo. And watching the two dimensional graphics that, at the time, were quite impressive. I can remember
how realistic I thought my second gaming console was, a Super Nintendo that had games that mimicked three dimensional game
play and were far superior to the previous Nintendo console. Then came along a Christmas in which I received a Nintendo 64
which was the first ever three dimensional console. I can remember plugging it all in and my family and I sat in awe of the
graphics. The final console upgrade that I purchased before I grew out of the gaming stage of my life was a Sony Playstation
2. This was the first console that I had ever owned that was not a Nintendo. As with every other console that I bought, I
thought that it was so state of the art and that the graphics were so realistic that there would not be a better system on
the market for years. I was wrong, however, as I have learned that so long as there is a market for gaming consoles, companies
such as Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft (maker of Xbox) will always be pushing the limits of realism in the consoles in which
they produce.
